At Atelier Yvicor, we make made-to-measure christening gowns and flower girl dresses: pieces to accompany a family celebration and keep afterwards as a memory. At the workshop, we combine machinery and handwork according to the fabric and details. We check seams, fastenings and finishes with the person who will wear the garment in mind.
We make christening gowns and outfits for babies, as well as flower girl dresses for older girls taking part in the ceremony, adapting each design to the age, fabric and style the family wants.
What we make
- Classic christening gowns in cotton, piqué or lace.
- Christening sets with a matching hat, bib or bonnet.
- Made-to-measure flower girl dresses.
- Personalisation with embroidered initials or a name.
- Transformation of family garments: a mother's or grandmother's christening or flower girl dress, adapted for the next generation.
Pieces that hold family memories
If you have a family christening gown or dress, we can assess how to adapt it. We examine the condition of the fabric, lace and seams, and discuss the details you want to keep. Before starting, we explain which changes or repairs the garment allows.
Our process
We start by discussing the ceremony date, the style you want and whether we are creating a new garment or working with a family piece. We take measurements and choose fabrics with you. We agree on the design, fittings and schedule; during construction, we check fit and finishes before delivery.
Design, comfort and coordinating family outfits
For a baby, we discuss the season, ease of changing and measurements close to the date. For flower girls, we consider length and movement alongside the wedding colours. You can browse baby clothes and accessories and our children's collection if you would prefer to start with a design from the catalogue.
Frequently asked questions
How far in advance should I order the gown or dress?
We recommend getting in touch at least 4-6 weeks in advance, and a little earlier if a delicate family garment needs work. We confirm feasibility and the schedule after assessing the work and workshop availability.
Can you work with the flower girl dress or christening gown I wore as a child?
We can assess it. We examine the condition of the fabric and explain what can be kept and what would be better replaced. You can read more about how we work with these pieces in how we transform an old dress into a garment with a new story.
What is the difference between a flower girl dress and a ceremony dress?
We explain it in detail in this article in the atelier journal.
