What to do with clothes you no longer wear (and why you might not want to get rid of them)
There are clothes we stop wearing, but never stop loving. Sometimes they just need a new way to be with us.
We all have a garment that has been hanging in our closet for years. We know we probably won't wear it again, but we can't bring ourselves to give it away either. Every time we change seasons, the same question arises: "What do I do with it?"
The answer rarely has to do with the clothes. It has to do with memories. That jacket you wore when you met someone important. The dress from an unforgettable celebration. The shirt that belonged to your father. There are garments that stop being part of our daily lives, but never stop being part of our history.

In the atelier, I have seen dresses become blouses, blazers transform into vests, and forgotten garments for decades return to use with completely new enthusiasm. I never feel like we are starting from scratch. I always feel like we are writing a new chapter.
Transforming is also a way of remembering
Giving a garment a second life does not mean renouncing its past. On the contrary. It means allowing it to continue accompanying you in a different stage. Sometimes, it is enough to change a length, adapt a pattern, or combine one fabric with another to discover a completely different garment that still retains the essence of the original.
That is the true value of artisanal transformation. It does not seek to hide the origin of a garment, but to respect it and make it evolve.

Fashion can also be a conscious decision
Every time we transform a garment, we avoid producing another completely new one. But, beyond the environmental impact, there is a benefit that is rarely mentioned: we continue to use something that is already part of us. This continuity creates a very different bond with the clothes we wear.
